FIELD ACCURACY TOOLS
Excavation & hauling planning starts here
Know the quantity before the trucks start moving. Turn excavation dimensions into bank volume, loose volume, truckloads, and a clearer hauling plan.

HOW TO USE THIS TOOL
- Select Haul-Off, Fill/Import, or Cut-to-Fill.
- Enter the quantity dimensions and material factors.
- Enter truck capacity and available trucks.
- Enter load, one-way route, dump time, and workday hours.
- Optional: enter Desired Haul Days to calculate trucks required.
- Click Calculate to see quantities, loads, cycle time, fleet needs, and haul duration.
Note: Verify swell, compaction, truck capacity, payload limits, route conditions, and actual field production before use.
Usage Guidelines
Know Your Bank Quantity
The bank cubic yard (BCY) is your most accurate baseline. Start here when calculating excavation volumes from site grading plans.
Account for Swell
Soil expands when excavated. Use the swell factor for your specific material type to convert bank volume into loose volume correctly.
Plan the Haul
Calculate truckloads based on loose volume and truck capacity. Ensure enough trucks are cycled to keep the excavator burning fuel.
